How much are services provided by SMC?

Investing in Your Well-Being

At SMC, we believe in transparent pricing so you can focus on what truly matters—your growth and healing. Below are our current session rates:

Therapy Services

  • Individual Therapy – $150 (55 minutes)

  • Initial Individual Therapy Session – $160 (up to 50 minutes)

  • Couples Counseling – $170 (55 minutes)

  • Family Therapy – $190 (55 minutes)

  • Initial Couples or Family Session – $195/$210 (up to 55 minutes)

Life Coaching

  • $70 to $210 (30, 60, or 90 minutes)

Consultations

  • $75 (30 minutes)

You’ll receive clear information about costs before starting therapy. If you plan to use insurance, we encourage you to verify your coverage for these services.

Important Policies

  • No-Show Appointments – Full session fee applies.

  • Late Cancellations (Less than 24 hours' notice) – $70 fee.

  • Late Cancellations (Less than 4 hours before your appointment) – Full session fee applies.

Rates for services provided by registered interns differ from those listed above.

We also offer discounts for college students and first responders with valid ID.

Flexible Session Options

Sessions are available in person and via telehealth to fit your schedule and comfort level.

Yes, we accept a variety of insurances, some EAP, as well as ASO.

We are not accepting Medicare or Medicaid.

Which therapeutic techniques are you using?

Our therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in a holistic and eclectic framework, drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic theories and techniques to best meet the unique needs of each individual client. Here's an overview of some of the therapeutic techniques we utilize:

1. Trauma Work: Our clinicians are trained in trauma-informed therapy techniques to help clients process and heal from past traumatic experiences.

2. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT is a highly effective approach for individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation, helping them develop skills for mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and beliefs, promoting healthier cognitive and behavioral responses to life stressors.

4. Gottman Method: The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that emphasizes strengthening relationships through enhancing communication, fostering intimacy, and resolving conflicts.

5. Motivational Interviewing (MI): MI is a client-centered approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about behavior change, empowering them to make positive changes in their lives.

Do you offer free consultations?

At SMC Tampa, we deeply value both your time and the expertise of our clinicians. While we understand that some practices offer complimentary consultations, we have chosen a different approach—one that reflects our commitment to high-quality care and our respect for the time and training of our providers.

Our clinicians bring their full attention, presence, and skill to every session, beginning with the very first conversation. In honoring this, we do not expect them to work without compensation. However, we do offer 30-minute consultations at a low fee for those who would like an initial conversation before committing to ongoing work.

That said, we encourage clients to consider scheduling a full session, as it provides the time and space needed to genuinely explore your concerns and goals. In our experience, a brief 15-minute phone call often does not allow for the depth or nuance that meaningful therapeutic conversations deserve.
